Your memories, thoughts, and personal data belong entirely to you. This policy explains our commitment to that when you use Whengram.
01 · LOCAL STORAGE, NO SERVERS
Whengram is an offline-first application. We do not own, operate, or maintain any databases or backend servers.
Everything you put into the app, including memories, milestones, and photos, is stored strictly on your device. We do not access, collect, read, or transmit your entries anywhere.
02 · WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT
- Profile data. We never collect your email address, profile picture, or personal identifiers, because there are no servers to send them to.
- Your content. Your memories, photos, and milestones are never harvested or transmitted.
- Third-party analytics. No trackers, no advertising networks, no behavioural SDKs.
03 · CLOUD BACKUPS, YOUR CLOUD ONLY
Whengram offers optional backups to your own cloud storage: Google Drive on Android; iCloud and Google Drive on iOS. You can also export a local backup file and save it anywhere.
If you enable a cloud backup, your Google or Apple account is used strictly to move the backup file from your device to your personal cloud space. It never touches our infrastructure, because we have none.
You stay in full control: delete your backups from Google Drive, iCloud, or wherever you exported them, at any time.
04 · SECURITY ON YOUR DEVICE
- App Lock uses your device's own fingerprint or face authentication. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never visible to Whengram.
- Screen Privacy, when enabled, blocks screenshots and hides the app's content in the recent-apps switcher.
05 · DEVICE PERMISSIONS
- Notifications: to send your scheduled daily reminder, processed entirely on your device.
- Camera and photo library: to attach images to your memories. Images stay on your device unless you start a cloud backup, which goes to your own Google Drive or iCloud.
